Zinkernagel Medical PhD Scholarship Announcement
The John Curtin School of Medical Research, ANU, Canberra The Centre for Personalised Medicine is proud to announce the launch of the Zinkernagel Medical PhD Scholarship, generously funded by Nobel Laureate Professor Rolf Zinkernagel. Congratulations to Dr Morgan Downes and Sonia Nambadan - their research paper, “Rare and Novel RELA Variants Contribute to Systemic Autoimmunity,” has been published in the journal Arthritis & Rheumatology. The study identified RELA gene variants in patients with diverse autoimmune conditions and demonstrated that some variants caused elevated signalling in an immune pathway known to be a key driver of systemic autoimmunity.Their work reinforces an important role for RELA in
