Featured: Behind the Curtain Podcast with Dr Sanjaya

Earlier this year, Simon joined Dr Sanjaya on his podcast to talk about my journey as a clinician-scientist, for his work in nephrology at Canberra Hospital Personalised Medicine research at ANU.

What sparked this research path for Simon was a patient he treated early in my career who was battling a severe autoimmune disease. That experience drove him to better understand the immune system and how we might improve treatment options through research.

In the episode, he reflects on some of the discoveries our team has made - from identifying genetic mutations linked to autoimmune conditions, to uncovering protective variants against kidney disease, and investigating why kidney disease is so prevalent in the Tiwi Islands.
