Purple House Directors Meeting

Updated: Jun 25

The Centre’s first new partnership will be with Purple House, the Indigenous-led mobile dialysis unit based in Alice Springs, to develop better understanding and treatment of Indigenous kidney disease. In February, after over twelve months of consultation, A/Prof Simon Jiang travelled to Alice Springs to present the Centre's research to the Indigenous Board of Directors, who represent communities across the Western Desert.

The Board were excited with the impact of our research and agreed for local patients from the community to be referred to CPM’s Indigenous Health program. We are always careful to approach this kind of research with respect and sensitivity and as such, we will be developing a local outreach program to support the community and ensure their voices are heard and concerns addressed.
