The PMA Lab goes to ANZSN 2024.

The Australian and New Zealand Society of Nephrology (ANZSN) hosted its annual scientific meeting in Adelaide from 31 August - 4 September 2024. A/Prof Simon Jiang, Dr Morgan Downes, Sonia Nambadan and Dr Justin Chan attended the event and presented on behalf of the Personalised Medicine and Autoimmunity (PMA) lab.


Dr Morgan Downes presented "Deleterious RELA variants in systematic autoimmunity". She spoke about the discovery of novel and rare RELA variants in patients with various autoimmunte conditions and the lab results demonstrating how the variants impacted RELA protein function.


Sonia Nambadan gave her presentation titled: A Rare LYN Variant and its Impact on Human Autoimmunity. She spoke about the characterization of a novel and rare variant of LYN demonstrates immune disruption in mice.


A/Prof Simon Jiang was honored the prestigious Mid Career Award for Discovery and Translational Science. He also presented the - The cutting edge of nephrology: Precision targeted treatments for glomerulonephritis.
